Privacy policy

We collect only what we need to list gigs, sell tickets and send the emails you ask for.

What we collect

  • Alerts: your email address, and optionally your state and the artist you want alerts for.
  • Buying tickets on Gigroo: your name, email address and order details. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card or bank details.
  • Organisers: your email address, and the name and ABN you add, plus your events, ticket sales and attendee lists. Payout details are held by Stripe, not us.
  • Reviews: the name, email address, rating and text you submit. Only your name, rating and review are published.
  • Usage: to show “Fans also viewed”, we record which artist pages are viewed together in a browsing session, as a code that changes every day. We don’t store your IP address or set a cookie for this. To limit review spam we keep a similar daily-changing code derived from your IP address.

Cookies

We only use cookies to keep organisers and our admins signed in. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies. Videos on artist pages load from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced domain only when you press play.

How we use it

To sell and deliver tickets, pay organisers, send the alerts and account emails you ask for, publish reviews, stop abuse, and improve the site. We don’t sell your information.

Who we share it with

  • The organiser of a show you buy tickets for gets your name, email and ticket details, to run entry and contact you about the show.
  • Service providers that run parts of Gigroo for us: Stripe (payments), Resend (email), Vercel (website hosting) and Railway (database hosting). Some store information outside Australia, including in the United States.
  • Anyone we’re required to by law.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or stop alerts, by emailing hello@gigroo.com.au. We keep order records as long as the law requires. If you’re unhappy with how we handle a privacy concern, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
